How do I book an appointment?
Select a service you are interested in. Select a date and time at your own convenience. Add this to your backet and continue to checkout. Then fill in your personal details and you shall get a confirmation email of your booking.

Can I cancel my appointment?
Of course! We know that sometimes you cannot make it to your scheduled appoitnment and that's not a problem. Just tell us you're not able to make it by phoning or emailing in. Alternatively, you can login into your account and cancel your appointment.

How do I know what test to take?
You can call our customer services team who may be able to advise you. Alternatively, you can speak to a doctor via booking a GP consultation appointment.

Can all blood tests be done at home?
Full MOT is the only blood test that must be performed in the clinic. All other blood tests can be undertaken at home.

Can I book for someone else on my account?
Unfortunately no, each individual's data is private and the account is linked to their sample.

Do I need an appointment?
No, we offer walk-in appointments too.

Should I fast before I come for my blood test appointment?

How do I book an in-clinic test and how does it work?
You can call our customer services team who can book you in or you can simply book via our website.

Can I make an order over the phone?
Unfortunately not, because due to data protection, we are not able to take card details over the phone. However, our team can support you and guide you while you place an order.
Delivery & Returns

When will I receive my test kit?
We dispatch your test kit the same day you order it. We will ship this out before 4pm. You are expected to receive your kit the next day.

Where do I return my sample, once I have taken the test?
Your test kit should include a return postage label. Just stick this on your test kit box and drop it in the Royal Mail priority box.

Can I return my kit if I no longer want to take the test?
Unfortunately, due to health and safety measures, we cannot accept any returned kits.

Are there any dispatch time constraints on postal test kits?
Test kit delivery and returns may vary depending on bank holidays, strikes, and weekends.

What do I do if my test kit is damaged?
If you find your test kit damaged when you receive it, just call or email us and we will post you a new one, free of charge.
Test Results

How long will it take to get my blood results?
Results are emailed within 48-72 hours of receiving the sample. This excludes weekends. If you have not received your results within this timeframe, please get in contact so that we can investigate.

What should I do after receiving my results?
You should aim to fix your baselines by booking a vitamin injection if you are deficient in a specific vitamin.
You can book a private GP consultation with our doctors, to find out more about what your report says or to discuss any health concerns. The doctor will recommend some diet and supplement lifestyle changes, if needed.

How will I receive my results?
Your blood will be emailed to you within 48-72 hours. The results will be delivered as a smart report, allowing easy reading and understanding.
This will be sent to the email you provide when you register.

Are my results confidential?
Yes, we never share your results with any third party.

Will I be able to understand my test results?
Our reports are generated as smart reports, displaying you with defined ranges of the low and high results, and then an indication of where your levels are at. You will also be provided with a description about what the test is about, helping you understand your results better.

Can my doctor see my results directly?
No, we email your report directly to yourself.

Are my results explained?
You can book a private GP consultation appointment to understand your report better.

How will I know when my results are ready?
Results are typically available 48-72 hours after receiving your sample in the laboratory. If you do not have your report, please contact us, so we can chase this up.

Do I have to have a doctor interpret my results?
Yes

Why are my Optimized Body & Mind blood test results different from my other blood test results?
The test results vary due to the difference in lab equipment or processes.

Some of my results are outside the normal range - should I be worried?
You can consult a doctor who will interpret your results for further evaluation.

What if some of the values on my report are abnormal?
If the result is outside the range then your physician will prescribe your medications according to your condition.

What types of things can cause my results to be delayed?
Not enough blood in your tube, or delayed postage.

Can you provide me with my results even though they are not verified by a doctor?
The results will be verified and sent via email.

Do you provide tests for children?

Are the test kits discreet? I don't want people to know that I'm taking a test
All of our test kits are discreetly packaged in opaque poly bags that include only your address and postage.

What is the fee for a private GP Consultation?
At Optimized Body & Mind, we offer private GP Consultations, and the fee for this service is £65.00.

Can I get a face-to-face appointment?
Yes, we offer face-to-face appointments and telephone appointments, so you can choose one whichever one is convenient to you.

Are there telephone consultations available?
Yes, we offer telephone appointments and face-to-face appointments, so you can choose one whichever one is convenient to you. If you cannot make it to our clinic, our GPs are always happy to have a discussion over the phone to discuss any concerns or to talk about your results.

Why do I need a GP Consultation appointment?
At Optimized Body & Mind, our blood test reports are smart report, therefore made easy for you to understand what your results have to say. However, there may be some information you may not understand, or it could be that some of your levels in your results are displaying too high or too low compared to normal levels, which means to seek advice from a doctor about the next steps.

When should I book a GP Consultation appointment?
You should book a GP Consultation appointment once you have received your report. If there are any results showing insufficient or high levels, then you may need to seek advice from a doctor of what should be done to ensure levels become optimal/ normal.

How long does it take to get an appointment to see a GP?
You can get an appointment normally the next day, depending on how busy our service is. It may be even possible to get an appointment the same day. Just call in, and our customer services team will be able to advice any available appointments we have.

Will Optimized GPs prescribe suitable medication for my health?
Yes, at Optimized Body & Mind we have highly trained doctors, who will prescribe any necessary medication you may need, based on your results.

What happens if I miss my GP Consultation Appointment?
A re-booking fee of £45 is charged, if you have missed your appointment. Therefore, ensure to make a note of your appointment.

Can I get a refund if I miss my appointment?
Missing an appointment is not our responsibility and therefore, no compensation will be issued, unless exempt circumstances occur.

How does your clinic service work?
If you have opted for an in-clinic appointment, you will have to arrive approximately 10 minutes before your appointment time. Our receptionist will greet you and talk you through the procedure. Then the doctor will undertake your desired test.

Do I have to pay extra to get my blood drawn?
No, however, if you would like a professional to draw your blood, we recommend you take the test in our clinic, rather than ordering a home test kit.

Place the lancing device on the side of your finger, and poke it to draw the blood.

How high do I need to fill the tube and why?
You will need to fill the tube til the mark is displayed. This is for efficient testing and accurate results.
Laser Treatment

Does laser hair removal hurt?
No, due to the latest technology today, there is absolutely no pain or discomfort whilst having laser treatment.

How does laser hair removal work?
Laser hair removal works by targeting the hair follicles, which are tiny openings in the skin where hair grows, with concentrated light. The laser is drawn to the melanin pigment in the hair and is absorbed by the hair follicle, which destroys the hair without damaging the skin.

Am I a candidate for laser hair removal?
For the vast majority of people, the answer is ‘ Yes’
We can treat both men and women of all ethnicities and skin types however a consultation will be required before treatment to check for health problems. Also, we offer a free patch test and therefore, you are able to come in before hand to see if no reaction has occured and that you are safe to undertake the treatment.

How many hair removal sessions will I need and how far apart are they scheduled?
Most clients need between six to eight effective treatments spaced at a minimum of four to six weeks. The hair reduces and tend to be finer at every session. So, it is important to carry on with the sessions for long lasting results.

How long does each treatment session takes?
The exact length of the treatment session mainly depends on the area being treated. However, smaller areas usually take around fifteen to twenty minutes.

How do I prepare for laser hair removal treatments?
Laser hair removal is more than just “zapping” unwanted hair. It is a medical procedure that requires training and experience to provide optimum results. When you are planning to undergo laser hair removal treatment, you should stop plucking or waxing for six weeks prior to treatment. In between the treatments, shaving and cutting the hair is fine but the removal of the entire hair shaft should be avoided at all costs. Moreover, it’s better to avoid sun exposure in the treatment areas for six weeks before and after treatment whenever possible.

What happens after laser hair removal treatment?
For a day or two after the treatment, your skin may look or feel sunburned. However, cool compress and moisturisers may help. You should always wear sunscreen to help prevent colour change on the treated skin. .

Are there any laser hair removal risks or side effects?
Some people may experience temporary side effects:

- Redness for up to three days
- Swelling around follicle for up to three days
- Tingling or numbness
The following are rare side effects/ or failed adherence to the Pre and Post-treatment instructions:

- Bruising
- Purpura (Purple coloring of the skin)

What if I just want less hair in an area?
It is possible to just reduce the amount of hair in an area. Simply buy a package that suits you, until you are happy with the amount of hair reduced.

What if I have excessive hair growth?

If you book an appointment, you may not be able to have the treatment as a consultation and patch test is mandatory. Instead of performing the laser treatment, you will be asked to have the consultation and patch test. Kindly note that a consultation and patch test are mandatory before proceeding with laser hair removal, ensuring your safety and optimal treatment outcomes.

How long does it take before I can see my course?
